Improv is built on agreement and radical support. But often, in our effort to work together, we create work that lacks mischief and unpredictability. We end up feeling trapped by our own rules -- unable to break free and explore new possibilities. Clown principles can add that sense of risk and play. Learn how to subvert the expectations, blur the lines of fact and fiction, create greater stakes and bring the audience more into your play.

ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR
CLOWN BOSS Chad Damiani is one of the architects of the modern LA clown scene. His unique approach to the work has been featured in New York Magazine, The LA and New York Times, Paris Review, NPR and PBS.
He’s the creator and star of the hit live show and podcast STAND UP AND CLOWN and is a longtime ensemble member of the international variety show STAMPTOWN (check him out in their recent Netflix special). Chad also tours with Piff The Magic Dragon’s All-Star Vegas and works regularly for America’s largest circus company, Spiegelworld.

Parking: Enter the main entrance to Urban Community School on W. 47th Street, south of Lorain Ave. Follow the driveway to the main oval parking lot in front of the red tower. You can park in any space marked with a green square. You can then follow the sidewalk to Lorain Ave. You will see Imposters directly across Lorain Ave. from the school.
