SAMANTHA WOODMAN
Samantha (Sam) Woodman is a Willoughby native. After receiving her theater degree from The University of Findlay in 2010, she moved to Chicago to follow her dreams of doing comedy at the Second City. Sam completed the Improv for Actors program, continued through the Second City’s Conservatory program, and also trained through the Annoyance in Chicago. Sam was a part of a theater pH productions where she wrote and directed a very popular sketch show “Single, Married, Divorced” which was also the show that represented the theater at Chicago’s sketch fest. After several years on many teams, sketch shows, and theaters she moved to NYC.
Sam took classes at UCB and started stand up at the Magnet Theater open mics. She began working for the Marla Kirban in commercial voiceover. While in NYC Sam wrote and produced her solo sketch show “Carnie” which was performed at the Annoyance Chicago. After her grandmother was diagnosed with terminal illness she moved back to Cleveland in 2019. Sam has taught improv to students at her alma mater, the University of Findlay, where it was the first time the University live streamed performances due to Covid. Sam developed her own improv program at the Cleveland School of Arts grades 9-12. She continued to virtually teach for Marla, Improv to Voiceover. Recently after comedy took a back seat to life, she has started finding her voice again. Sam is forever thankful to have Imposters Theater where she can do her craft as well as meet some of the best humans in Cleveland.
You can see Sam perform regularly in IKEA Near Me or her indie team the Four Humours. Sam is also producer of the Imposters College Improv Festival (ICIF) and producer, writer, and director of her sketch show “My Love Letter to Food”. Sam was voted one of Cleveland’s “The Scene” top three best female comedians. In her “spare time” she volunteers her time to IAF (Imposters Art Foundation).
