This workshop is for music directors / musicians of any experience level who would like to up their game in on-the-fly song composition. You’ll learn techniques to broaden your range of styles, lock in with your actors, and come up with fresh new songs each show. You’ll get the chance to play along with the Charm Scene team and get immediate tips and feedback from Sam. Perfect for a musician who is thinking about or is already playing with an improv group.

ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR
Sam Scheidler (he/him) is a Chicago-based musical director who plays for any number of improv shows across Chicago’s many comedy venues. He teaches musical improv at The Second City and performs across the US with Second City's National Touring Company. You can hear his piano stylings each week on the musical improv podcast "CharmScene" and on some episodes of "Off Book.”
